DON’T STOP TIL YOU GET TO THE TOP!
We are at the top of the hill. Drive up past the big dam and more orchards then it’s Stella Creek on the right hand side near the top of the hill. There are signs along the road as well as the ‘Stella Creek’ black and cream sign at the entrance.
What to do when you come to Stella Creek for PYO
Please park on Plummers Road near our tree lined entrance and stroll down to our large Garden Shed where you will be greeted in the shed. You’ll be given your picking buckets with a plastic liner and shown to a section of the orchard where the ripest cherries are.
In the orchard you will be met by a guide who will show you how to pick the perfect cherry and protect the trees from any damage. You may have already watched the “training” video, or picked here previously, but it always helps to refresh your memory before you swing into action!
You can then pick all the ripe cherries you wish to take home. Remember that WHAT YOU PICK YOU MUST PAY FOR, so please do not pick more than you need and please do not pick any green cherries as they will not ripen after they are picked!
Things you need to know to PYO Cherries at Stella Creek
The best time to pick? Whatever suits you but early in the day there are usually fewer people and you have the ‘pick’ of the fruit (as more people pick, the closest ripe fruit is picked).
The entrance fee is $10 for Adults , $5 for Children aged 5-14 and free for Children under 5.
WHAT YOU PICK, YOU PAY FOR and you take home! Do remember to only pick the quantity of cherries that you need! You are not picking for us! Cherries are currently $16/kg.
Picnic: During harvest it’s wonderful to see so many happy people here at Stella Creek. There are beautiful picnic spots for family gatherings & fun.
